Bully Ray thinks quite highly of one of his spots with Dixie Carter in TNA.
In 2014, Dixie Carter became the top heel in TNA. Mimicking Vince McMahon’s run in WWE in the Attitude Era, she began to become much more involved on-screen with the product.
She introduced EC3 as her on-screen nephew and drove TNA original AJ Styles out of the company. Her tenure was not overly well received by fans, and many felt her appearances made the product worse.
However, one great moment from this mixed run involved Carter and Bully Ray. The pair feuded for weeks, with the WWE Hall of Famer claiming he was going to put her through a table. Once she lost her controlling stake in TNA to MVP, the ECW legend happily made good on his promise.
On the August 2nd, 2014 episode of TNA Impact, Bully Ray climbed the top rope with Dixie Carter, before plunging the TNA owner through the table with a massive powerbomb. This was a move he had done to countless women in the WWE, although he ended up breaking Dixie Carter’s back in the process.
No matter what you thought of the storyline, it was a great moment in TNA history. That is something Bully Ray firmly believes today.
The greatest moment in TNA history
The former TNA World Heavyweight Champion took to Twitter, replying to a post about the event. It is ten years since Bully Ray put Dixie Carter through a table, and he called it the “Great moment in TNA history”.
“Greatest moment in @ThisIsTNA history. End. Of. Story. @BustedOpenRadio“
While it was a great moment, I’d struggle to call it the best. Putting it above Kurt Angle’s debut, Sting’s 2005 return or Elix Skipper’s incredible cage walk seems slightly gratuitous by Bully Ray.
