Dani Olmo was one of the stars in Luis de La Fuente’s Euro-winning Spain team. The attacking midfielder, who secured a regular starting spot after Pedri’s injury, ended the tournament as one of the top scorers.

The RB Leipzig star has been a long-term target for Barcelona, and his performances in the recently concluded Euros only accentuated the interest. After all, he is a graduate of La Masia and knows the team’s style inside out.

A premonitory sign

Olmo is currently in Spain, celebrating the team’s historic win and visiting his hometown during his holidays. His future, however, is still unclear with several clubs, including Bayern Munich, interested in a transfer this summer.

As revealed by SPORT, Olmo was in Vallesa earlier today and was approached by fans for autographs after the event. He signed the shirts, which were Barcelona kits, and many felt it could be a premonitory sign of a possible transfer.

With his release clause set at €60 million and set to expire in just three days, however, a move to Catalonia appears unlikely at this stage. After all, Joan Laporta and Co. have their eyes set on Nico Williams.

Olmo speaks on his future

Speaking to the media earlier today, the Spanish phenom was asked to comment on his future and the club he would like to join. In fact, he was even specifically asked about a possible move to Barcelona, to which he said:

“There are several options, and the people who handle my affairs know what I want, as I said.”

“I want to be in a place where I am valued, and the fundamental thing for me is to win; I am very ambitious,” he added.

It thus remains to be seen if Barcelona make an aggressive push for the Leipzig star in the coming days. With no big sales completed yet, triggering his release clause by the 20th appears unlikely.
