Grammy-winning Nigerian music superstar, Damini Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy will be performing live at the 2024 Grammy Awards.
The Recording Academy, an organiser of the annual award, made the announcement on its X handle on Monday.
The 66th Annual Grammy awards ceremony is scheduled to hold on Feb. 4, 2024 at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, United States.
The announcement reads: “Attention: African Giant @BurnaBoy will take the #GRAMMY’s stage on Sunday, Feb. 4 at 8 PM ET / 5 PM PT on @CBS.’’
The ‘African Giant’ crooner was announced alongside ace music artistes Luke Combs and Travis Scott.
Other performers earlier announced by the organiser include Olivia Rodrigo, Billie Eilish, and Dua Lipa.
Burna Boy earlier received nomination for the 2024 Grammy alongside Davido, Ayra Starr, Asake and Olamide.
He was nominated in three categories which included the Best African Music Performance, Best Global Music Performance as well as the Best Global Music Album category for his album ‘I told them’.
The Grammy Awards recognises the best recordings, compositions, and artists of the eligibility year (from Oct. 1, 2022 to Sept. 15, 2023) as determined by the members of National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences.
Three new categories have been introduced into the award beginning from the 2024 edition; they include Best African Music Performance, Best Alternative Jazz Album and Best Pop Dance Recording.
