EXCLUSIVE: Buying London, the UK’s answer to Selling Sunset, has failed to land the keys to a second season with Netflix.

A spokeswoman for the streamer confirmed the cancelation to Deadline but declined to comment further.

Much like its successful American sibling, Buying London followed a high-end estate agent in the capital run by property tycoon Daniel Daggers.

In each ep, Daggers’ agents competed to sell spectacular properties in and around the capital, with eps titled ‘Let the Property Games Begin’, ‘The Loudest Agent in the Room’ and ‘It Takes Two To Tango’. As with Selling Sunset, some agents built personal brands as property influencers on social media.

The show from Fremantle-backed UK producer Naked made a brief foray into the Netflix UK top-10 when it launched in May but failed to land in any great way. It amassed middling reviews, with The Guardian going further by calling it “probably the most hateable TV show ever made” and handing it zero stars. Netflix subsequently used the quote from this review to promote the show on X, writing: “Stirring up drama, on and off screen. Buying London is now streaming.”

Buying London’s collapse contrasts with the runaway success of Selling Sunset, which will launch its eighth season in a few days’ time. The show has been a huge hit for Netflix in an era of big streamer reality swings, garnering Emmy nominations and spawning spin-offs Selling Tampa and Selling the OC.
