C’River LG poll: APC wins eight council seats

The All Progressives Congress in Cross River State has clinched eight Local Government councils as the State Independent Electoral Commission released the first batch of results of the November 2, 2024 LG polls.

The party won in Abi, Akamkpa, Akpabuyo, Bakassi, Bekwarra, Etung, Obudu and Odukpani in the results which were announced by the CROSIEC Chairman, Dr Ekong Boco.

Announcing the results, Boco said Egballa Bassey of the APC won in Abi with 26,265 votes.

In Etung LG, Henry Njah emerged as the winner with 18,727 votes and Peter Undiandeye clinched the Obudu chairmanship seat with 112,654 votes.

For the Bakassi LG, Okon Etim won with 12,117 votes, while Ushie Theresa emerged as the winner in Bekwarra LG with 31,551 votes.

In Akamkpa LG, Akposi Felix won with 53,882 votes, while Effiom Effiong won in the Akpabuyo LG with 25,164 votes.

The APC chairmanship candidate in OdukpaniLG, Etim Asido, amassed 41,368 votes.

However, Boco attributed the delay in announcing all the results in the 10 LGs to the difficult terrain in the state due to the deplorable roads. He said more results would be announced as they come.
