CAA Signs Indhu Rubasingham, Artistic Director Of London’s National Theatre

EXCLUSIVE: CAA has signed Indhu Rubasingham, the newly appointed artistic director of London’s National Theatre.

At the National, Rubasingham has directed The Father and the Assassin and Kerry Jackson.

Prior to her appointment as artistic director of the National, she served as the artistic director of the Kiln Theatre in Kilburn, London, where she also directed The Wife of Willesden (transferred to the American Repertory Theater and Brooklyn Academy of Music), Handbagged, The Invisible Hand, Pass Over, When Crows Visit, and Wife, among others.

Rubasingham’s production of Red Velvet by Lolita Chakrabarti won the Outstanding Achievement in Affiliate Theatre at the Laurence Olivier Awards in 2014. The production later transferred to The Garrick Theatre on the West End and St. Ann’s Warehouse in Brooklyn, NY.

Rubasingham was awarded an MBE in 2017 and as of 2023 chairs The Women’s Prize for Playwriting, where she previously served on the judging panel.

She is represented in the UK by Annette Stone at Annette Stone Associates.
