Cameron Crowe Signs With CAA

EXCLUSIVE: Academy Award, BAFTA Award, and Grammy Award winner Cameron Crowe has signed with CAA. Crowe’s legendary career features some of the most iconic titles of all-time dating back to his debut feature film screenwriting effort, Fast Times At Ridgemont High. Starring Seaon Penn, the film was based on a book he wrote after spending a year undercover as a student at Clairemont High School in San Diego.

He would then go on to direct such classics as Say Anything, Singles and Jerry Maguire featuring Tom Cruise and Renée Zellweger, which was nominated for five Academy Awards including Best Original Screenplay and Best Picture. Crowe’s screenplay received the PEN Literary Award and a Directors Guild of America nomination for Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Feature Film.

The film that would ultimately land him his first Oscar was the autobiographical pic Almost Famous, starring Kate Hudson and Billy Crudup, which is based on his experiences as a teen writer for Rolling Stone and won the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay. The film received four Golden Globe nominations and four Academy Award nominations, and won two Golden Globes, including Best Motion Picture – Comedy or Musical, and Best Actress in a Supporting Role for Hudson. Crowe was also awarded a Grammy Award for Best Compilation Soundtrack Album for a Motion Picture, Television or Other Visual Media.

The recent Broadway production of Almost Famous: The Musical, penned by Crowe with music and lyrics by Crowe and Tom Kitt, earned a 2023 Tony Nomination for Best Original Score.

His other works include the psychological thriller Vanilla Sky, Elizabethtown, We Bought A Zoo and Aloha.. He also directed the music documentaries Pearl Jam Twenty and The Union. On the Doc producing side his credits include David Crosby: Remember My Name and created the Showtime television series Roadies alongside J.J. Abrams.

He is currently in development on his next feature film, based on the life and music of the legendary artist Joni Mitchell. He started his career as a contributing editor and writer at Rolling Stone in 1973, where he covered numerous rock bands on tour.

Crowe continues to be represented by The Azoff Company and Kevin Marks and Daniel Passman at Gang, Tyre, Ramer, Brown & Passman.
