The trailer’s release comes more than a year after it was rumored that Foxx was the reason behind Diaz’s decision to walk away from Hollywood a second time once they finished production on the Netflix movie. It was reported Foxx had a “meltdown” on set which resulted in the firing of an executive producer, two directors and his driver.

In addition to her desire to be more present for her 3-year-old daughter, Raddix, whom she shares with husband Benji Madden, a source close to Diaz told the Daily Mail that the “Something About Mary” actress “hates” the “drama and confrontation” that comes with working in the entertainment industry.

“This is why she retired from the business in the first place,” the source explained at the time. “She has already proven herself in the industry and has nothing left to prove to anyone.”

Though, the source also shared that Diaz and Foxx are still on good terms despite the heightened tension.

“Cameron is a businessperson and understands that this is necessary at times and, honestly, Jamie is the only reason that she is doing this film and they are still very close,” the insider added.

Diaz responded to the speculation last December, saying she “really” hated the rumors that circulated about her castmates and crew on the set.

“You just want to scream at the top of your lungs, like, ‘What are you talking about?’” she said on Molly Sims’ “Lipstick on the Rim” podcast.

The actress also shut down the claims that Foxx was the reason behind her renewed hiatus.

“Jamie is the best. I love that guy so much,” she said. “He’s such a special person and he’s so talented, so much fun.”
