Cameroon: Fecafoot has made a decision for Eto’o

Despite his request for resignation, Samuel Eto’o was confirmed in his role as president of Fecafoot.

The saga continues for Samuel Eto’o at the head of the Cameroonian Football Federation (Fecafoot). The latter announced in a press release published on Twitter that Eto’o had asked to step down as president during a meeting which took place in Yaoundé. The former Indomitable Lions star would also have encouraged members of the Executive Committee to do the same. The fault, notably in the last elimination of the Cameroonian team by Nigeria (0-2) in the round of 16 of the CAN. However, President Eto’o’s request for resignation was rejected by the Comex.

Fecafoot thus declared: “At the end of the discussions and the deliberation which followed, the members of the Executive Committee decided to unanimously continue their current mandates and subsequently unanimously rejected the resignation of the President of the Cameroonian Football Federation, renewing all their confidence in him in order to continue in the same momentum, the work of reconstruction and development of Cameroonian football, from the base to the top, as he had planned in its project acclaimed during the elective General Assembly of December 11, 2021.
