Camila Cabello appeared to shade Sabrina Carpenter during a recent performance of “Señorita” by skipping over the lyric “taste” — the title of the latter’s latest single.

Cabello performed her and ex Shawn Mendes’ hit song during the iHeartRadio Music Festival last weekend, but left out a word, leading fans to believe it was a dig at Carpenter, who also dated Mendes.

“You say we’re just friends / But friends don’t know the way you taste,” Cabello sang, according to a TikTok video of the performance.

Instead of singing the word “taste,” Cabello, 27, covered her lips with her finger and gave a cheeky side eye from the stage.

Meanwhile, fans have speculated Carpenter’s song “Taste” is about the 25-year-old’s former rumored romance with Mendes, 26.

In response to Cabello’s performance, fans were split on whose side they were on the rumored love triangle.

“Is it bad I love both Sabrina and Camila?” one TikTok user penned, while another added, “they’re so messy i love it😭😭.”

Cabello’s fans highlighted that the singer chose to skip over the word “taste” which is also the name of one of Sabrina Carpenter’s recent hits. One fan applauded Cabello’s choice to skip the word “taste” in the song. “CAMILA 😭😭 This is kinda iconic,” they wrote, while a third quipped, “Wait she is SOO [sic] funny for this.”

During the performance at the music festival in Las Vegas, the Fifth Harmony alum rocked a leather mini skirt complete with a matching leather biker jacket.

Mendes and Cabello collaborated and starred in the “Señorita” music video in 2019 around the time they started dating and announced their split two years later in November 2021.

Cabello and the “Treat You Better” singer later sparked reconciliation rumors after they were photographed kissing at Coachella in April 2023.

Their Coachella make out session took place just two months after Mendes was photographed out in Los Angeles with Carpenter.

This isn’t the first time in recent months that fans have called out Cabello for shading Carpenter, as the musician shared a TikTok on Aug. 25 singing her song “June Gloom.”

The track is reportedly about Carpenter and Mendes’ rumored fling with lyrics like “She’s cool, I heard / Won’t act surprised, I saw the pictures.”

Despite the online rumors of the alleged shade, Carpenter has been dating actor Barry Keoghan, 31, since late 2023.

Carpenter and the “Saltburn” star sparked split rumors recently, but Page Six exclusively reported he was spotted at the singer’s rehearsals for the MTV Music Video Awards earlier this month.
