Camila Cabello opened up about getting Drake on her new album C,XOXO. If you forgot, the 27-year-old Fifth Harmony alum and 37-year-old rapper briefly sparked romance rumors when they were spotted in the Turks and Caicos Islands in December 2023. It turns out that they were actually there to work on a song together. In a new interview, Camila spilled on working with Drake on the project. She also shared a surprising detail about his contribution. Keep reading to find out more… “He’s the f–king GOAT, so it felt like shooting for the stars,” Camila told Billboard, explaining that she reached out to Drake via DM. “I showed him the album when I felt comfortable enough and he really liked it. [The feature] came out of a nontransactional place. He had this idea of a song called ‘Hot Uptown,’ and it just felt like I was in the city. I was in Miami.” It turns out that “Hot Uptown” isn’t Drake‘s only contribution to C,XOXO. He also takes teh lead on an interlude called “Uuugly,” which only features Camila as a backing vocalist. “Why does he have his own song,” she said about the unexpected decision. “Because selfishly, I just want to hear Drake on my own album.” Camila continued, saying, “I love that for me — it’s like that rebellious mood. Who says I can’t do that? It’s Drake talking his sh-t.” The singer also joined forces with Lil Nas X for their song “HE KNOWS.” C,XOXO arrives on June 28.
