South Africa took the seat for the CAN semi-finals by taking over Cape Verde.

The Champions League semi-final table is complete. The last qualifier was South Africa. Bafana Bafana qualified by defeating Cape Verde on penalties.

Williams, this hero

In this exercise, their goalkeeper Ronwen Williams pulled out all the stops. In spirit, he stopped no less than four opposing attempts. With such success, he could only propel his team to the next round.

During regulation time, he also distinguished himself by repelling a heavy opponent’s shot on the crossbar. Hugo Broos and his men owe him a debt of gratitude, especially since he has kept a clean sheet for four matches in a row.

Thanks to him, South Africa will play its very first half of the CAN since 2000. It will be against Nigeria. A great duel, with a place in the final at stake.
