Incredible Equatorial Guinea which “wins” Group A of the CAN thanks to its crazy 4-0 victory against Ivory Coast, ahead of Nigeria on goal difference. The Elephants are third with a goal difference of -3 and are awaiting the results this Wednesday to know if they will participate in the rest of the competition on their land.

Egypt snatched a point against Cape Verde (2-2) to finish second in Group B with only three points behind the Blue Sharks. Ghana finds itself third but with two small points and will not be among the four best thirds!

While Senegal scored a third victory against Guinea 0-2), Cameroon took second place at the end of the suspense ahead of Gambia (2-3). It is the Guineas who finish 3rd and, with 4 points, are sure to play in the round of 16.

While Angola beat Burkina Faso (2-0) to finish at the top of group D, Algeria-Mauritania kept all its promises. The 2019 African champions fell (0-1) to finish last in this group! The Mourabitounes had never won a CAN match, today they find themselves in the round of 16! Despite their -1 goal difference, they are guaranteed to finish among the four best third-placed teams in the group stage.

Leader of Group E with four points, Mali faces Namibia, which remains with a 4-0 defeat against South Africa. Tunisia absolutely must win against Bafana Bafana to qualify for the round of 16. But one point would be enough for the top three!

The situation is simple for Morocco despite the controversial draw against DR Congo (1-1): a point against Zambia could be enough for the semi-finalists of the 2022 World Cup to finish in the lead. The Congolese, with a goal difference of 0, can also qualify with a draw against Tanzania and even finish second if the Zambians do not win against the Moroccans.
