EXCLUSIVE: Canada’s Green Ghost Media has tied with French studio Tik Tak Productions for a pair of children’s TV series.
The pair has formed a joint venture to create preschool series Wonder Whiskers and tween toon based on author Chamalotte Johnson’s Wolfnight — L’élue d’Algatia fantasy universe.
They are pitching the shows as straddling the line between educational content, theme-driven storylines and inspiration.
Wonder Whiskers is billed as capturing “the comedic energy of the classic team problem-solving preschool program” with a “modern, timely twist.” While plot details are scarce, the narrative will center on Montessori learning principles, which follow children’s interests as they develop.
Early production has begun and is tentatively slated for a 2025 release.
The Wolfnight adaptation is currently in development. The original franchise is from France and spans the young adult, fantasy and adventure genres. Plot details haven’t yet been revealed.
“We’re excited to be our own advocates in the marketplace and carve out new opportunities for marginalized creators,” said Randy Young, Owner and President of Green Ghost, who will be co-executive producer, director and co-writer on both projects. “This partnership is about more than content. It’s about creating a platform for new voices, telling stories from perspectives rarely seen in our current media landscape. Yes, even now there are underserved demos.”
Discussions with European distributors have begun, with the plan to secure a deal by the end of this year.
