The former WWE Intercontinental Champion Carlito has been in the professional wrestling business for over 25 years. Recently, he opened up about how much time he has left in his career.

While speaking to Chris Van Vliet on his Insight podcast, Mr. Caribbean Cool Carlito revealed that he has a few more years left in his wrestling career. The former WWE United States Champion shared that he has been dealing with a few injuries lately. Thus, the fact that he has not been taking too many bumps inside and outside the ring has helped a lot in his recovery.

“For a little bit, yeah. I still feel like I have a little bit left in the tank. I feel like I got a few more years in me. Not many, but a few. I’ve been dealing with some injuries, so not bumping has helped. Like I said, there’s still a little bit left in the tank,” Carlito said. [H/T F4WOnline.com]

During the same interview, Carlito reflected on his debut match. It was against the 16-time WWE World Heavyweight Champion John Cena. The former WWE Intercontinental Champion managed to also defeat Cena and capture the United States title.

“It was great. I first thought that Cena had pranked me because as soon as I got there he was the nicest guy to me. Went over everything with me, one of the nicest guys you could ever meet. Then we get in the ring, the bell rang, and he kicked me in the stomach so hard, that’s like, oh, okay I see what’s going on here. But that’s just the way he worked. And I think that’s what he said. He’s a strong boy, he hits hard.”
