Carlo Ancelotti, the huge flaw

Despite his prowess, Carlo Ancelotti is criticized by Real Madrid leaders.

Carlo Ancelotti may have put Real Madrid on the path to a treble (Spanish Super Cup, La Liga and Champions League) this season, not everyone is satisfied with him. In particular, some are questioning the use, or lack of use, of Arda Guler in recent months.

Guler had a difficult start in the Spanish capital. Arriving last summer from Fenerbahçe, he was unable to play during the first half of the season due to multiple injuries. Since January he has been fit and available, but he has only played seven times in almost four months, for a total of 112 minutes.

Ancelotti criticized despite everything

According to Relevo, one of the people at Real Madrid who is unhappy with Ancelotti’s use of Guler is transfer guru Juni Calafat, who helped Los Blancos broker the deal last summer. The Spanish-Brazilian “doesn’t understand” why the Italian plays Guler so little, while many at the club consider him a “generational talent”.

Given that Real Madrid all but won the La Liga title by winning in Sunday’s Clasico, Guler is expected to play more in the coming weeks. He is expected to start on Friday, when Los Blancos travel to the Reale Arena to face Real Sociedad.
