The experienced Portuguese coach, Carlos Queiroz, refused the offer made to him by the Algerian federation.

While just a few hours ago he was announced as the number 1 favorite to take charge of the Greens, Carlos Queiroz chose to turn his back on Algeria. The information was disclosed this Wednesday by the media GOAL France.

Queiroz was seduced but…

“Although he greatly appreciates Algeria’s football proposition, the passion of the supporters, the talent”, the Lusitanian technician therefore made this important decision, even if it meant remaining without work. As a reminder, he has been free since the end of his short experience with Qatar.

Now, the candidate who is emerging to land at the head of the Fennecs is José Peseiro. However, the latter is still in charge of Nigeria and is under contract until 2026.

As a reminder, the Algerian federation is still in conflict with Belmadi. The two parties were unable to agree on the financial aspect of their breakup. The matter could be brought before FIFA.
