Celebrity fitness trainer Gunnar Peterson announced on Instagram Wednesday that his 4-year-old daughter has been diagnosed with leukemia.

Peterson, who trains stars such as Khloé Kardashian and Jessica Simpson, said they learned of Monroe Vivian’s disease after they spotted “odd” bruising on her legs, a cough and an “on and off fever” over the past couple of weeks.

Four days later, Monroe’s white blood cell, platelet, hemoglobin and hematocrit (percentage of red blood cells) counts dropped — requiring the young girl to receive transfusions and undergo biopsies and spinal taps.

The tests confirmed Monroe has Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML), which starts in the bone marrow but can quickly move into the bloodstream, according to cancer.org.

“Our Warrior Princess will crush this! She has even said it herself!” he wrote on Instagram alongside a series of photos of his daughter undergoing treatment.

“Please hold our daughter, and our family-immediate and extended-in your hearts, thoughts, and prayers.”

Peterson also shared that amid his daughter’s treatment schedule, he and his family applied for a Make-A-Wish gift for Monroe.

“Back to levity and fitness fodder, more on this as it unfolds,” he concluded the message. “Into the storm.”

Peterson shares Monroe with his ex-wife, Janet Crown, as well as two more children.

Stars and former clients flooded Peterson’s announcement with messages of support.
