There’s a lot of talk and rumors going around right now that Celine Dion is set to make a big surprise comeback performance at the opening ceremony of the 2024 Paris Olympics this Friday (July 26).

Well, one rumor going around says she’s going to be banking $2 million for performing just one song. However, an Olympics spokesperson is setting the record straight.

“Contrary to some media reports, the performers at the Paris 2024 Games ceremonies will not receive a fee for their performance,” a spokesperson for the Paris Olympics told Page Six. “Their decision to perform under these conditions reflects their desire to be part of a historic event for France, and for the world of sports.”

The Olympics will cover expenses for the production of the performance. They didn’t confirm that Celine is even performing, by the way. But sources claim she will be there.

Celine has not publicly performed since she canceled all her scheduled performances after her Stiff Person Syndrome diagnosis back in December 2022. She has publicly stated that she almost died due to what she went through.
