Celta de Vigo launched a humorous dig at Real Madrid by inviting their supporters to come and take a photo with the Intertoto Cup, a trophy that the Merengues have never won, before their La Liga match this Saturday.

As the 10th day of La Liga between Celta Vigo and Real Madrid approaches, the Galician club decided to provoke the Merengues with humor. In a press release entitled “the title you will never have”,

Celta reminds that Real Madrid, although having won almost all the major trophies, have never won the… Intertoto Cup.

The Galician leaders therefore invited Madrid fans to come and take a photo with this trophy, won by Celta in 2000, before Saturday’s match. A stand will be set up outside the stadium to allow supporters to

“feel and touch this title” that their team will never have.

A memorable troll before the match

This initiative, which plays on the fact that Real Madrid

“didn’t win everything”is a humorous snub from Celta Vigo. The club hopes to relax the atmosphere before this meeting where the Merengues will try to regain the lead in the championship.
