There is a fire burning inside Chad Gable.

Following his successful title defense against Jey Uso, Intercontinental Champion Gunther is now on the hunt for his challenger at WWE’s biggest event of the year — WrestleMania 40. This week’s episode of WWE RAW teased several possibilities, including Sami Zayn, The Judgment Day’s Dominik Mysterio, and Chad Gable, who stepped up to “The Ring General” twice before.

As Gable pitched his case to WWE RAW General Manager Adam Pearce, he referenced his last televised title shot, in which his loss prompted his daughter to burst into tears at ringside. Given that Gunther then labeled Gable as a “terrible father,” Gable is now on a mission to prove him wrong.

Earlier today, Gable posted a cinematic promo (via X) expanding upon his previous statements. While Gunther’s remarks may have struck a nerve in Gable, they also light a fire under him, giving him more motivation to “right a wrong” that still haunts him.

“Gunther, I told you straight to your face what you and that match did to me, but you made it personal. You made this about more than just the championship,” Gable said. “But this isn’t about revenge. This is a quest for vindication for my family, my daughter, my fans, and myself. When Chad Gable says something, he means it. And I said something, so I’m going to do it. This isn’t a resolution, it’s a declaration.”

To me… it just means more.

I wasn’t just randomly reminded of this last night. ⁣

I wanted to share a piece we made back during the Holidays. I’ve used it as personal motivation and watched it every day as a constant reminder of my why.
