Developers can now build secure cross-chain dApps with Chainlink's CCIP to use USDC easily across chains.
Decentralized oracle network Chainlink announced today the integration of Circle’s Cross-Chain Transfer Protocol (CCTP) with its Chainlink Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP), enabling developers to build secure applications that facilitate the transfer of USDC across multiple blockchain networks.
The integration of CCTP within CCIP opens up new possibilities for the use of USDC in seamless cross-chain transfers, payments, and decentralized finance (DeFi) interactions.
Sergey Nazarov, Co-Founder of Chainlink, expressed enthusiasm for the role CCIP’s advanced risk management features will play in meeting key user requirements for USDC transactions.
“We’re excited to support the adoption of stablecoins across a variety of cross-chain use cases. I’m pleased to see that the defense-in-depth security infrastructure of CCIP, with multiple layers of decentralization, is something highly valued by developers building with USDC,” stated Chainlink’s co-founder, Sergey Nazarov.
Chainlink’s commitment to security is evident in its Risk Management Network and level-5 security infrastructure, which are designed to monitor and verify cross-chain operations continuously. These measures are critical in an industry that has seen significant losses due to insecure cross-chain infrastructure.
CCTP’s permissionless on-chain utility allows developers to offer users a secure and capital-efficient way to transfer USDC across chains. Chainlink’s large blockchain developer ecosystem can now use both CCIP and CCTP, opening up great potential for building applications that enable smooth USDC transfers across chains.
