Exclusive broadcaster of the Champions League, Canal + is offering a unique experience to its subscribers this season.
Despite its withdrawal for the TV rights of Ligue 1, Canal + remains a major player in the audiovisual landscape in terms of football. The encrypted channel has chosen to focus on other flagship competitions in its catalog for the coming seasons. Subscribers can thus find the spectacular English Premier League, but also and above all the European cups, including the prestigious
Champions League.
With its brand new formula, the C1 offers a unique calendar that brings together 4 French representatives this season: Paris Saint-Germain, AS Monaco, Stade Brestois and LOSC. In addition, the Canal + group broadcasts all the matches during each day of the league phase, a “regular season” that will keep football fans on the edge of their seats until the beginning of 2025.
Grandstand mode, the new Canal + option that is causing a sensation
Viewers have been able to discover a brand new feature on Canal + for a few months now: the “stands” mode. The channel offers its subscribers a total immersion in the atmosphere of a stadium with the broadcast of the match without the usual commentary. An experience that allows the viewer to experience the match in conditions close to reality, like at the stadium: “Just the sound of the stadium, just football and you.”
Launched in the Premier League last season, the “stands” mode is a possible option for Champions League matches this season. If the viewer has this option enabled by default, it will be extremely simple to put the commentary back for a match. All they will have to do is go to the sound settings with their Canal + remote control to find the original version.
