Former Manchester United striker Andy Cole believes it could take Sir Jim Ratcliffe longer than three years to turn things around at Manchester United, especially with his aim being to win the Premier League title.
Ratcliffe laid out his plans to restore United to their former glory at the top of English football within “two or three seasons after becoming co-owner earlier this week.
As I wrote in a BBC Sport column, that seems like a very quick turnaround that would delight United fans. I feel he’s been a little naïve in thinking a title could be delivered in that time.
Cole, who won five Premier League titles, two FA Cups and the Champions League during his eight years at United told PA news agency (via Sky Sports): “It’s going to take time.
“It could possibly take longer than three years, we have to be very honest.
“If we look at ourselves now, we’re still in the same position and if he’s going to turn it around in three years he’s going to have to go some. But change is good.”
