With only four games to go of their Premier League season, Erik ten Hag is still completely unaware of what the future holds for him at Man United beyond this season.
The 2023/24 campaign has been a car crash for the Red Devils for a number of reasons, and there’s a strong likelihood that United might not even make it into the Europa League this season.
Tottenham currently occupy fifth place in the Premier League, are six points ahead of United and also have a game in hand.
Erik ten Hag has no idea if he’ll manage Man United next season
With Newcastle breathing down their necks too, and Chelsea and West Ham not too far back, it’s possible that a Europa League play-off place will be open to them should results not go United’s way.
Having to play in the Europa Conference League, with respect, would almost certainly signal the death knell for ten Hag’s tenure.
A club as big and as storied as Man United, with their incredible history, should not be playing in Europe’s third-tier competition, but at the time of writing, that’s a possibility.
Erik ten Hag hasn’t enjoyed the best of seasons at Man UnitedIn some respects, that would encapsulate the Dutchman’s time at Old Trafford perfectly.
According to HITC, it seems that no decision has been made yet, but ten Hag isn’t aware of which way things are going to go.
Sir Jim Ratcliffe will apparently be leaving any decisions to the football department, so the likes of Jason Wilcox et al will need to work hard and fast if they decide to relieve ten Hag of his duties at the end of the season.

With the Euros just around the corner there’s a busy summer ahead, and that could also impact on any manager search.
United need to be stable and have someone in place well before the start of pre-season, and it may be that urgency is what helps the Dutchman retain his place for a little while longer.
