Charlie Dempsey has regained the gold.
On the August 13 episode of WWE NXT, Charlie Dempsey challenged Tony D’Angelo for the NXT Heritage Cup. They battled back and forth, and the match broke down in the closing moments. Myles Borne and Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo interfered. No Quarter Catch Crew member Wren Sinclair capitalized on the chaos and helped Dempsey score the win. In doing so, he won the NXT Heritage Cup for the second time.
D’Angelo previously beat Dempsey to win the NXT Heritage Cup on the May 14 episode of NXT. Dempsey’s first reign began on the February 27 episode of NXT, where he beat Noam Dar.
