Chelsea have confirmed the signing of Pedro Neto from Wolves, unveiling their new arrival ahead of their final game before the start of the new Premier League season.
The Blues have agreed a deal worth £54million to bring the Portugal winger to west London – taking their summer spending over the £200m mark.
The deal was confirmed on Sunday with Neto in attendance at Stamford Bridge for the final pre-season game against Inter Milan with Enzo Maresca’s side kicking off their 2024-25 Premier League campaign at home to Manchester City next weekend.
Chelsea initially approached Wolves with a player-plus-cash offer with David Datro Fofana and Trevoh Chalobah among the players brought up in discussions.
Neto becomes Chelsea’s ninth signing of the summer following Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Renato Veiga and Omari Kellyman, goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen, defenders Tosin Adarabioyo, Aaron Anselmino and Caleb Wiley, winger Estevao Willian and Marc Guiu through the door.
Neto had previously been a long-term target for Arsenal with Mikel Arteta identifying him an alternative option to Bukayo Saka.
The winger scored three and laid on 11 assists last season but missed 18 league games with hamstring injuries.
