Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah has no future at the club and the Blues are interested in letting him leave this summer.

The defender, who is an academy product, is reportedly on the club’s transfer list as his sale would be added as pure profit in the club’s financial books.

Chalobah was left out of the club’s preseason tour of the United States which made it clear that he has no future at the club under new manager Enzo Maresca.

Crystal Palace could lose defender Marc Guehi with interest increasing in his services from Newcastle United and the South Londoners are eyeing a move for Chalobah to replace Guehi.

However, according to the Express, Chelsea could make a move for Guehi and use Chalobah in a swap deal.

Palace and Nottingham Forest are interested in signing the Chelsea defender but the Blues could allow him to join their London neighbours in a swap deal as they are interested in signing former defender Guehi.

The England international has attracted interest from the biggest Premier League clubs after his fine performances for Palace and the national team.

Marc Guehi back to Chelsea?

He was one of England’s best players at the recently concluded Euro 2024, in which he helped the Three Lions reach the final of the tournament.

Chelsea have already signed two defenders in Tosin Adarabioyo and Aaron Anselmino after losing Thiago Silva this summer.

Anselmino has been signed but he will join the club next year in January, which could force the Blues to enter the market for another centre-back addition.

Guehi would be the ideal Thiago Silva replacement at Chelsea

They could now target a move for Guehi, who would add quality and depth to their defensive line up.

The Palace defender is valued at £65m but with the Blues willing to offer Chalobah in exchange, that fee would come down significantly.

Since moving away from Chelsea, Guehi has developed into one of the best players in the league in his position.
