Chelsea were keen on signing the Napoli striker Victor Osimhen at the end of the season.
A report from the Standard claims that Paris Saint-Germain are keen on the 25-year-old as a replacement for Kylian Mbappé and therefore the Premier League club are looking at potential alternatives.
Chelsea are unlikely to qualify for the Champions League next season, and they might find it difficult to attract elite talents like Osimhen.
As per the report from Standard, Chelsea are now sounding out moves for the likes of Evan Ferguson and Ivan Toney.
Ferguson has established himself as one of the best young strikers in the Premier League and he has shown his quality with Brighton on a regular basis. It remains to be seen whether they can secure an agreement with the Seagulls in the coming months.
The 19-year-old striker has six goals and two assists to his name across all competitions this season.
It is no secret that Chelsea need to bring in a reliable finisher. Nicolas Jackson has not been able to live up to the expectations and the Blues have been overly dependent on Cole Palmer for goals.

Chelsea need a quality striker if they want to get back into the Champions League and compete for trophies. Ferguson has the attributes to develop into a top class Premier League forward. The 19-year-old is more than just a goalscorer and the Republic of Ireland international will add creativity and hold up play to the side as well.
Regular football under Mauricio Pochettino could help him improve further and fulfil his potential.
