Chelsea are reportedly considering a move for ‘cold’ Everton star Dominic Calvert-Lewin this summer, who is loved by Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti.

The Blues are seeking attacking reinforcements for their new head coach Enzo Maresca and are set for somewhat of a rebuild after Mauricio Pochettino’s exit.

Chelsea are keen on RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko but face a battle with Arsenal for his signature, with the Gunners thought to be ahead in the race.

The west Londoners are also keeping tabs on Girona striker Artem Dovbyk, who is set for feature for Ukraine at Euro 2024 this summer.

Calvert-Lewin is now the latest striker Chelsea have identified as a transfer target as look to tempt him to Stamford Bridge, according to the Daily Mail, who hit a purple patch at the end of 2023-24 with five goal involvements in seven games.

The 27-year-old England international has conjured up a total of 68 goals and 18 assists across 247 games for the Toffees to date.

He played some of his best football under Ancelotti, who managed Everton between 2019 and 2021 before he went back to Real Madrid for a second stint.

Ancelotti was a huge fan of Calvert-Lewin, describing the Englishman as ‘cold’, ‘powerful’, ‘fantastic’ and ‘a complete striker’ during his time at Everton.

‘It is not easy to find a striker with these characteristics,’ Ancelotti said about Calvert-Lewin in 2020.

‘He has a lot of energy, is really fast. I am really pleased he is doing well and scoring goals because at the end a striker is judged on the goals he scores.’

Calvert-Lewin scored in Everton’s 2-0 win over fierce rivals Liverpool in April which saw the player lauded by his current boss Sean Dyche.

‘I thought he was excellent,’ Dyche said. ‘His physical performance was outstanding.

‘I said to him after the match that it is the sort of performance that gets you back around the England squad.’
