Chelsea are reportedly plotting a move for Real Madrid’s Brazilian winger, Vinicius Junior, with the club ready to make him the focal point of their attack.

According to Fichajes, the 24-year-old forward has caught the attention of Chelsea, though the Blues will likely face stiff competition from both PSG and Manchester United for his signature.

Vinicius had an outstanding season with Real Madrid last year, tallying 24 goals and providing 11 assists, crucially contributing to Los Blancos’ La Liga and UEFA Champions League triumphs.

Despite his impressive performance, he missed out on the Ballon d’Or, a decision that surprised many given his influence on the pitch.

A report by CaughtOffside on Saturday noted that Chelsea’s interest comes at a time when Vinicius’s future at Real Madrid appears uncertain.

The Spanish giants are keen to secure his services with a new contract, as his current deal runs until 2027. However, it is reported that Vinicius recently rejected a renewal proposal, fuelling speculation about a potential departure from the Santiago Bernabéu.

“The Spanish outfit are keen to tie him down to a new deal. Convincing them to sell the player could be quite difficult. Apparently, Vinicius has rejected the last renewal proposal from Real Madrid and that has fuelled further speculations surrounding his future,” the report said.

A move to Stamford Bridge would be a high-profile acquisition for Chelsea, who are looking for a top-class winger to boost their attacking prowess.

The Blues see Vinicius as a “world-class addition,” potentially a major upgrade on current options like Mykhailo Mudryk and Noni Madueke.

His combination of speed, skill, and goal-scoring ability could transform Chelsea’s offense, adding both creativity and firepower.

“He will add goals and creativity to the side. Also, he is a proven matchwinner at the highest level. He has shown that with Real Madrid in the big games.

“His mentality, quality and winning experience could prove to be invaluable for the Blues if they can get the deal done.

“It remains to be seen whether Chelsea decide to try their luck and test Real Madrid’s resolve with an offer at the end of the season,” the report added.

However, taking Vinicius away from Madrid won’t be easy or cheap. With Real Madrid reportedly reluctant to sell one of their star players, Chelsea would need to make a compelling offer to test the Spanish club’s resolve.

The prospect of Vinicius bringing his winning mentality and technical skill to Stamford Bridge is tantalising for the Blues, who continue to rebuild their squad under a new era.
