Chelsea Green returned to WWE since last year’s Royal Rumble and has achieved significant milestones in the past year. However, this isn’t her first run with the company as she was once in NXT as well as the main roster a few years ago. Green has now admitted that she was negative during her NXT stint as well.
From 2018 to 2021, Chelsea Green was with WWE, starting in NXT and later making appearances on Monday Night RAW and Friday Night SmackDown.
While speaking on the Lightweights podcast, Chelsea Green admitted to having a negative mindset initially during her time in NXT. Green expressed that with her current positive mindset, she believes she could have turned challenging situations into opportunities.
Green acknowledged that during her NXT tenure, she felt she was given very little, but she now realizes the potential of making the most out of any situation. After her release and return to the indies, she transformed challenges into successes, realizing the power of positivity.
Green believes that, even with limited opportunities in NXT, she could have done more with a positive mindset, leveraging her experiences on the main roster. Green emphasized that her success is not just about the few minutes she wrestles, but the extra effort she puts in on her days off.
”No (I have not always been this positive). No, definitely not… I was really negative in NXT when I first got hired by WWE. I really felt like I was given absolutely nothing. But if I had to have this mentality, maybe nothing would have turned into something. So I think it was really eye-opening when I was released, and I did go back onto the indies and I did make a lot out of nothing. The ball started rolling and then I realized, gosh, you could get so much more out of being positive.”
”100 percent, 100 percent (I could have tried to change my situations to get further in NXT). I mean, I really wasn’t given that many opportunities to thrive. But still, the opportunities I was given, I could have made something out of them. I don’t know how right now, but I absolutely could have knowing what I know now on the main roster of WWE and the three minutes that I get in the ring, you know, that’s been blown up to now, ‘She’s the best rehire by Triple H.’ I only wrestle for two-to-three minutes. It’s just what I do on my days off that make people think that. It’s what I do with those three minutes.”
Since her return to WWE, Chelsea Green secured the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles. She enjoyed a five-month reign, which came to an end when she and Piper Niven were defeated by Kayden Carter and Katana Chance. It remains to be seen whether Chelsea Green will be given a singles run this year.
