Chelsea have immediate first-team plans for new £34 million signing Willian Estevao, according to reports.
The 17-year-old has made just 15 first-team appearances for Palmeiras but is regarded as one of Brazil’s most highly rated young players.
The winger, who has also featured for Brazil’s Under-17s, will join Chelsea after he turns 18 next year and will arrive at Stamford Bridge alongside 17-year-old Ecuador international Kendry Paez, whose £17.5m move to Chelsea was agreed last year.
Chelsea have agreed to pay an initial £34m fee for Estevao plus a further £21.5m in performance-related add-ons.
And according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea are planning to integrate the Brazilian winger into the first-team squad straight away.
‘The deal is agreed from a new proposal sent by Chelsea,’ Romano said on his YouTube channel.
‘This proposal after the first one was rejected which was €32m [£27.5m] plus €25m [£21.5m] in add-ons. Now, Chelsea have offered €40m [£34m) guaranteed plus €25m [£21.5m] in add-ons. Plus Chelsea will pay the taxes on the deal, which are also expensive with South American deals.
‘Also, the bonuses are performance related. Palmeiras believe this is going to be easy bonuses if Willian Estevao performs for Chelsea. It’s not just about trophies, it’s about how many games he will play, number of goals and assists.
‘The bonsuses are agreed, Palmeiras believe they will get their money int he future so the agreement is verbally done.
‘Chelsea’s plan is very clear, to bring in this player in 2025.
‘But from what I’m hearing, he’s not going on loan to any club. He’s not going with the second team.
‘No, Willian Estevao will be considered immediately for the first team. So Chelsea want to bring this guy immediately with the team to make an impact. They believe he’s super special. This is the plan for Chelsea.’
