Courted by Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain last summer, Josh Acheampong finally extended his contract to Chelsea. The London native is now linked to Blues until 2029.

Acheampeong joined Chelsea’s academy at just 8 years old. He had his first minutes in the Premier League last May, against Tottenham, under the orders of Mauricio Pochettino. If the long negotiations between the London club and his clan had an impact on his playing time in the first team, it seems that this is now ancient history. He also took part in the entirety of Chelsea’s meeting against Astana in the Conference League (victory, 1-3), last Thursday.
