Chelsea are keen on signing the Palmeiras defender Vanderlan at the end of the season.
According to UOL, the Premier League side are keeping tabs on the 21-year-old full-back and they could look to make a move for him at the end of the season. However, the Brazilian outfit are not intent on selling the player.
The report further states that the defender is valued at €15 million, and it will be interesting to see if Chelsea decide to test the resolve of the Brazilian club with a lucrative proposal in the summer.
The 21-year-old defender could be attracted to the idea of competing in the Premier League. Chelsea are one of the biggest clubs in the world and the opportunity to play for them can be hard to turn down for most players. A move to England would be a major step up for him and regular football in the Premier League could accelerate his development.
It is no surprise that Chelsea are looking at left-backs. They have Ben Chilwell and Marc Cucurella as their only options and Cucurella has been largely underwhelming. Ian Maatsen is currently out on loan and he is expected to leave the club permanently in the summer.

Chelsea need to sign Vanderlan
It will be interesting to see if Chelsea decide to sell Cucurella during the summer transfer window and sign the Brazilian as his replacement. The 21-year-old would be a long-term investment and he could prove to be a major bargain for the reported valuation.
There is no doubt that the young defender could easily justify the €15 million investment and Chelsea must do everything in their power to sign a prodigious young talent like Vanderlan.
Chelsea have had a disappointing season by their standards and they will need to improve the squad if they want to bounce back strongly next year.
