Earlier today, a bizarre rumour emerged claiming that Argentine midfielder Enzo Fernandez wanted to leave Chelsea in the summer and offered himself to Barcelona.

There have been some murmurs about the World Cup winner’s future in recent weeks, with Chelsea’s season going nowhere under Mauricio Pochettino.

However, his agent had already come out and clarified that Enzo was happy at the club and was not looking for an exit.

But days after that it was claimed that the midfielder wants out and had even offered himself to Barcelona ahead of the summer.

Enzo does not want to leave

But, dismissing those claims, Argentine journalist Gaston Edul (via Albiceleste Talk), has claimed that Enzo Fernandez does not want to leave Chelsea and has never asked to leave the club amidst the Barcelona rumours.

Enzo joined Chelsea in a deal worth over €100 million back in January 2023 and is a key part of Pochettino’s team at Stamford Bridge.

Even though things are not going well for the Blues, the Argentine has no plans of leaving the club anytime soon.

Furthermore, given his lengthy contract until 2031, any move to Barcelona would have been totally out of the question given that the Catalans are in no economic state to afford the signing of that magnitude.

Barcelona are in the market for a midfielder for the summer but are prioritising more affordable options like Amadou Onana of Everton while Dion Lopy of Almeria has also been linked.

As for Enzo, the 23-year-old is expected to continue at Chelsea beyond the summer.
