Not everything is going as planned for Christopher Nkunku at Chelsea. Indeed, faced with a bloated workforce, the Blues coach, Enzo Maresca, made the decision to form two teams: one for the Premier League and another for the cups, notably the Europa Conference League.

Hampered by injuries since his arrival at Stamford Bridge in July 2023, Nkunku has been playing in this second team since the start of this 2024-25 financial year. Despite notable performances in these competitions, with 9 goals and 2 assists in 7 appearances, the lack of playing time in the championship would begin to weigh on the former Parisian, according to The Team.

A possible departure this winter

The sports daily reveals that the native of Lagny-sur-Marne is seriously considering his future at Chelsea, where his contract runs until June 2029. In this context, a departure from the winter transfer window could be considered for the former Leipzig, determined to play a leading role in returning to the level it once was.

Facing competition from Cole Palmer, Nicolas Jackson, Noni Madueke and Pedro Neto, Nkunku played just 154 minutes in the Premier League, with just one start in 10 games and 1 goal to his name.
