Chelsea outcast Raheem Sterling is open to a shock move to Manchester United, according to reports.
The former Liverpool and Man City winger has a CV that, although full of trophies from his seven years at the Etihad, showcases enough rival influence to irk most United fans.
Sterling is set to leave Chelsea this week ahead of transfer deadline day, after falling out of favour under new manager Enzo Maresca. The writing is on the wall as the 29-year-old has not been included in any of his squads since the start of the season.
Reports today suggested that Chelsea are open to including Sterling in a move for Sancho, who is set to leave United amid talks with Juventus.
According to the Daily Mail, Sterling would not automatically turn down a switch to United if the opportunity arises.
The England international won four Premier League titles during his time at City, as well as one FA Cup and five Carabao Cups.
Despite his affinity with two rival clubs – Liverpool and City – Sancho wants to join United, but it remains to be seen if the feeling is mutual and time is running out.
Sami Mokbel reports: “There is a pessimism about whether a deal that would see Sterling and Sancho swap clubs is possible.”
Sancho is one of United’s highest-earning players, who doesn’t start, so it makes complete sense to try force a move this week.
