Chelsea are considering selling goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic just a year on from his arrival at Stamford Bridge.

After emerging as one of the best young talents in the MLS, Chelsea swooped to sign the Serbia international last summer, joining the Blues in a seal worth an initial £12.5million.

In what was a turbulent 2023-24 campaign at Stamford Bridge, Petrovic made his Premier League debut as a substitute in December after replacing the injured Robert Sanchez.

He would remain Mauricio Pochettino’s first choice in goal for the remainder of the season, keeping five clean sheets in the process.

The 24-year-old was left out of the Chelsea squad for the pre-season tour of the US this week due to a small injury and while he is expected to travel Stateside soon, his long-term future in west London looks uncertain.

The Athletic report Chelsea are now ready to listen to offers after doubts emerged over his suitability in goal under new head coach Enzo Maresca.

Chelsea are considering a number of new options in goal – although the club have ruled out a possible move for Arsenal shot stopper Aaron Ramsdale, along with Burnley’s James Trafford.

The club have made an initial approach for Villarreal goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen, who is regarded as a player with high potential by scouts in west London.

Kepa Arrizabalaga meanwhile is back at the club following his loan spell at Real Madrid last season but he is expected to be sold in the coming weeks.

Saudi Pro League side Al-Ittihad saw an opening offer for the 28-year-old rejected last week.

Another Chelsea star who could be sold this summer is Ben Chilwell. The Athletic report he is another who may not be a stylistic fit for Maresca’s plans with Chelsea prepared to listen to offers for one of their top earners inf the price is right.

Romelu Lukaku, Trevoh Chalobah, Armando Broja, Cesare Casadei and David Datro Fofana are also among those who could be sold.
