The BlueCo 22 consortium, known for having bought the Chelsea club two years ago, then Strasbourg last summer, is not in the best shape financially. The heavy investments made are being felt since the accounts are in bright red. The group announced huge losses, £653 million (€764 million) over the period from March 2, 2022 to June 30, 2023.

In the previous financial year alone (July 1, 2022 to June 30, 2023), Chelsea recorded a loss of £90.1 million, or €105 million. According to The Telegraph, these figures cast serious doubt on the Blues’ ability to meet the financial fair play standards of the Premier League. This authorizes £105 million (€123 million) in losses… over three years.
