Chelsea are keen on signing the Atletico Madrid attacker Joao Felix this summer.

They are looking to improve their attacking unit and they were keen on signing Samu Omorodion from the La Liga club. However, the move for the Spanish international collapsed in the end. It seems that they have now turned their attention towards Felix.

The Portuguese international does not have a future at Atletico Madrid and he will want to leave permanently this summer. His relationship with manager Diego Simeone is fractured beyond repair.

The player was on loan at Barcelona last season and he impressed with the Catalan giants.

Chelsea are prepared to provide him with an exit route. He has previously been on loan at the London club and the opportunity to join them permanently could be an exciting one for the player.

According to Mundo Deportivo, Chelsea and Atletico Madrid are currently locked in talks regarding the 24-year-old and the Blues have already submitted an offer of around €46 million plus bonuses for the striker.

Felix will be expected to rejuvenate the Chelsea attack next season. He is versatile enough to slot anywhere across the front three and he will add goals and creativity to the side. Chelsea were overly dependent on Cole Palmer for goals last season and the England international needs more support in the attack. Felix could be the dynamic forward Chelsea are looking for.

Joao Felix would be ideal for Chelsea

The 24-year-old was regarded as a world class talent when he joined Atletico Madrid but his development has not gone according to plan. He remains a quality player irrespective of that and a move to Chelsea could help him realise his true potential.

Regular football in the Premier League will be ideal for Felix and Chelsea could help him fulfil his tremendous potential.

The Blues will look to compete for trophies in the upcoming campaign and they need to sort out their weaknesses this summer. Signing a quality attacker will be top priority for them as they head into the new season this weekend.

The 24-year-old scored 10 goals and picked up six assists in all competitions for Barcelona last season and he has the quality to make an instant impact in the Premier League as well.
