Chelsea are targeting Athletic Bilbao winger Nico Williams alongside signing a new striker this summer, according to reports.

The 21-year-old has established himself as a key player for Bilbao since making his first-team breakthrough three years ago, and has six goals and 11 assists in all competitions this season.

Chelsea have already spent over £1 billion on new signings under the Clearlake Capital-Todd Boehly ownership but are still looking for further additions to Mauricio Pochettino’s squad after a disappointing season.

According to The Telegraph, Williams is on Chelsea’s summer shortlist and the club are considering a move for the winger, who has a £43 million release clause.

The report adds that Chelsea have made the signing of a new forward a ‘priority’, with Napoli’s Victor Osimhen and RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko their top two targets.

Sesko joined RB Leipzig from Red Bull Salzburg last summer and has scored seven goals in his debut Bundesliga campaign.

The 20-year-old had attracted interest from Manchester United before they opted to sign Rasmus Hojlund.

Osimhen, meanwhile, is set to leave Napoli at the end of the season and Chelsea are frontrunners for the Nigeria international alongside Paris Saint-Germain, who are in the market to replace Kylian Mbappe.

Speaking last week, former Chelsea midfielder, John Obi Mikel, who is in regular contact with Osimhen, claims he Napoli striker would welcome a move to Stamford Bridge this summer.

‘I think there is genuine interest between both. I think he loves the club, he wants to come to the club,’ Obi Mikel said.

‘He also has a lot of interest. Paris Saint-Germain, Man United.

‘I’m still pushing, sending him messages, trying to make sure he doesn’t expect to much, narrow you’re mind on one club – the Blues.’
