It’s difficult to imagine how Chelsea’s Mauricio Pochettino is managing to work under Todd Boehly when the American owner appears willing to pull the rug from under him at any given moment.
There’s been nothing but chaos even since Boehly took over at Stamford Bridge, and it appears set to continue this summer.
Todd Boehly happy to sell up to seven more Chelsea stars
Not content with breaking the British transfer record twice in one year whilst selling a full XI’s worth of players, summer 2024 is likely to bring the sale of up to seven more first-team staff and, potentially, the manager.
If the Blues don’t get into Europe this year, it’s a foregone conclusion that Pochettino’s services will be dispensed with, though the Argentinian may consider it a blessing.
Marc Cucurella and Conor Gallagher could both get the chop at Chelsea if Tood Boehly gets his wayIt’s true that some of the club’s major signings aren’t performing anywhere close to their maximum level, and the manager must take some of the blame for that.
However, it can’t all fall on Poch’s shoulders, and the haphazard way that Boehly clearly believes is the right way to run a football club can’t be conducive to squad harmony.

The Telegraph (h/t Fichajes) note that a deal to take Lewis Hall to Newcastle on a permanent basis is likely to conclude successfully, and the 19-year-old is expected to be followed out of the exit door by Marc Cucurella, Conor Gallagher, Ian Maatsen, Trevoh Chalobah, Romelu Lukaku and Armando Broja.
Of the seven, only Gallagher has a realistic chance of being kept given his performances for the club, however, Chelsea’s ability to make moves in the transfer market will be dictated by Financial Fair Play and the pure profit a Gallagher sale would make could be the kicker to get rid of him too.
