Chelsea have been chasing a new striker all summer and they have identified Napoli striker Victor Osimhen as the player they want to sign.

However, his condition to join the club is making it difficult to complete the transfer, despite Napoli’s desire to let him leave the Serie A club.

According to The Sun, Osimhen wants to become the highest paid player in the Premier League if he joins Chelsea.

The striker is one of the best players in the world in his position and he has guided Napoli to Serie A success in the past, showing his quality on the biggest stage.

The Nigerian striker is now looking for a new challenge and Chelsea can offer that opportunity with Enzo Maresca stating his desire to sign a new striker.

The move could be facilitated because Napoli have signed Romelu Lukaku from Chelsea.

Osimhen is demanding a £500,000-a-week contract to join the Blues, which would make him the highest earning player in the league.

Chelsea are still interested in signing Napoli striker Victor Osimhen.

Manchester City stars Kevin De Bruyne and Erling Haaland earn £400,000 and £375,000 respectively.

The bad news for Osimhen is that Chelsea are not willing to meet his incredible demand, as they are looking to trim their squad and cut down their wage bill.

Chelsea are trying their best to manage their finances

The reason Chelsea are ready to offload Raheem Sterling and Ben Chilwell this summer is because they want to take care of their finances and cut down the extravagant wage bill.

Osimhen’s move to Stamford Bridge was already facing difficulties as the Blues are unable to meet his release clause and Napoli want a permanent move for him, not a loan move.

The Premier League giants have identified Everton attacker Dominic Calvert-Lewin as the alternative to Osimhen.
