Pierre Sage returned at the end of the meeting to his relationship with Rayan Cherki. And by his own admission, the situation is not simple.

Rayan Cherki did not miss the opportunity. Established on Wednesday for the Coupe de France match against Lille, the young midfielder shone. Decisive passer for Orban in the first period then scorer, the international hopefuls was involved in the two Rhone goals (2-1) and thus recalled the good memories of his former coach when the latter had left him on the bench, Sunday, against Olympique de Marseille.

Replaced in the second half, Rayan Cherki barely greeted Pierre Sage when he left. A gesture which did not escape the Lyon technician…

“He is indeed a special talent, a player that I must consider in his singularity. I strive to do so, I hope that he understands and that he accompanies me in this project with the necessary frankness at certain moments, and tolerance and patience at others. We had moved away a little since a match, but I think things are a little better… except when he goes out, like all the other players, confided the former Audonian at a press conference. He had the desire to play a little more, especially since he was decisive and did not play the match before. But sometimes more is the enemy of good, so I think it was better to stop there. »
