Chief hands over renovated classroom block to Esuowin Methodist JHS

The Chief of Esuowin in the Amansie, Nana Akyena Kwagyan Nuamah V, West District of Ashanti, has handed over a renovat­ed classroom block of the local Methodist JHS to the authorities of the school.

The renovation of the six-unit classroom block was undertaken by the chief with support from some individuals of the community and old pupils of the school.

The chief, as part of the ceremony, also donated 11 computers and two printers to facilitate the teaching and learning of ICT in the school.

Nana Nuamah, speaking at the ceremony, paid glowing tribute to individuals and community members who supported him to renovate the school, which had been in very deplorable condition for some time.

He said the rehabilitation of the school and the donation of the computers demonstrated his com­mitment to advancing education delivery in the community.

Nana Nuamha pointed out that adequate infrastructure played a critical role in enhancing quality education delivery and said the improved classroom environment would play a pivotal role in enhanc­ing education delivery.

He pledged to work with other key stakeholders to establish a community senior high school to help bring secondary education to the doorstep of the people in the area.

He called on the people to join hands and support the develop­ment of the Esuowin community.

Mrs Barbara Boakyewaa Mensah, Headmistress of the school, ex­pressed profound gratitude to the chief for his continued support of the school.

She also took the opportunity to recognise the significant contri­butions made by the past pupils of the school and said that it had helped to improve education deliv­ery in the school.

Mrs Mensah further extended her thanks to key individuals such as Mr Andrews Appiah, Mr Eric

Frimpong and Mr Akwasi Agyemang, who had been instru­mental in supporting the school’s growth through their philanthropic efforts.

Mr Richard K. Achina, Assem­blyman for Esuowin electoral area, said he would continue to work with all stakeholders to bring the needed development to the com­munity. -GNA
