Chris Smalling joins Al-Fayha FC

Another big name is flying to Saudi Arabia. Chris Smalling has just signed with the Al-Fayha club for two seasons. Forced out by competition in Rome, the 34-year-old defender joined the Saudi Pro League club on Monday in the final hours of the Saudi transfer window.

“Al-Fayha management announce the signing of English central defender Chris Smalling on a two-year contract from AS Roma”we can read on the press release. The former great hope of Manchester United had managed to relaunch a career that was struggling by joining the Italian capital in 2019. At 34 years old and after five years in Rome, Smalling therefore offers himself one last big contract before possibly hanging up his boots in two seasons.
