Former Premier League striker Chris Sutton claims Marcus Rashford has no respect for Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag.
The retired footballer turned pundit has criticised Rashford for his latest misdemeanour which involved missing training after a heavy night out in Belfast.
As a result, Rashford missed Sunday’s FA Cup win over Newport County.
Rashford reported ‘ill’ for training on Friday, but footage has emerged of him in a nightclub in Belfast – leading to a tell all interview with a waitress who partied with the United star, as per The Sun.
A statement was released by the club on Monday night to stress that the matter is now ‘closed’ with Rashford in consideration for Thursday’s trip to Wolves.
“Marcus Rashford is like a good few Manchester United players at this moment in time,” said Sutton on the It’s All Kicking Off podcast, as quoted by the Daily Mail.
“He thinks he’s untouchable. This hasn’t been the first time where he’s had a misdemeanour. It’s been continuous. He has no respect for the manager and no respect for his teammates. That’s the bottom line. He’s probably thinking he is going to outlast Ten Hag anyway but he’s out of control as far as I can see.
“He is 26 now, Marcus Rashford. He has such a lack of respect for the manager. He’s making his feelings quite clear, isn’t he?
“I feel sorry for Ten Hag, but essentially we know which way this is going to go. Ten Hag will eventually end up leaving and Rashford will stay on and all the Manchester United fans further down the line will love Marcus again because he’s ‘Manchester United through and through’. But his actions have been utterly disgraceful.”
There is a lot of noise surrounding Rashford right now but we can’t forget that he scored 30 goals for United last season. The big question is how can we get him back to those levels?
