Christianah Idowu : “Let’s hold each other accountable” – Adekunle Gold addresses men

Nigerian singer, Adekunle Kosoko, popularly known as Adekunle Gold has urged men to redefine masculinity by holding each other accountable.

TheNewsGuru.com (TNG) reports that the singer spoke admonished men to stand up to men who oppress and demean women in the wake of the murder a female student of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) Christiana Idowu.

TNG reported that hat the Idowu, was abducted by Ayomide, her boyfriend, who demanded a sum of three million Naira as a ransom before they could release her.

According to a family source, Christiana had left her home to the University of Lagos in Yaba area, where she was observing her industrial training when the kidnappers abducted her.

The source disclosed further that the abductors had reached out to the family, after she was unreachable for a while, demanding a ransom of three million before she could be released.

The source added that after several appeals from the family, the abductors agreed that a sum of N350,000 be paid to a certain account, which the family paid, but the abductors refused to release her despite the payment.

Reports say intelligence operatives tracked the abductor to his parents house in Ikorodu through the BVN and account details used in collecting the ransom.

Calling for JusticeforChristianah, Adekunle Gold, via the micro-blogging platform X  formerly known Twitter noted that true strength lies not in staying quiet but actually about standing up to your friends who abuse, rape or demean women.

He wrote: “Men, true strength is not about staying silent but about standing up to your friends who abuse, rape, or demean women. Let’s redefine masculinity by holding each other accountable.
