Christina Aguilera Leaves RCA Records After 26 Years, Signs With 5020 Records

Christina Aguilera is taking a new direction with her music career.

The 43-year-old Bionic superstar officially signed to 5020 Records, leaving her longtime label RCA Records of 26 years, Variety confirmed via a Sony Music rep.

Fans first noticed months ago that 5020’s logo appeared on her official website, sparking speculation that she’d moved on from RCA.

5020 is a new Latin label based out of Miami with stars like Nathy Peluso and Kenia Os on its roster.

RCA has since removed Christina from its artist page.

Christina was first signed to RCA when Ron Fair, then senior vice president at the label, heard her demo tape of Whitney Houston’s “Run to You” in 1997. Her debut under the label arrived in 1999, featuring hits like “Genie in a Bottle,” “What a Girl Wants” and “Come on Over Baby (All I Want Is You).”

She’s currently on her Christina Aguilera at Voltaire residency in Las Vegas, and has teased that new music is in the works.
